Is it a coincidence but everytime I have something in my bag whether it be a random thing like I had a butter knife in my bag don’t ask me how it got there but I ended putting my bag down go to the bathroom later on that day coworker ask me “do you have a butter knife to open up a package “ or I like just now went to take a break and had a bag of popcorn in my bag came back and she asked me if I had some popcorn
Or anything else I may have in my bag is this a coincidence hmmmmm..
That's creepy. You should have told her that butter knives are not good for opening packages, and given her an odd look. Same with the popcorn request. "Why would I have popcorn?!" (glare), would be an appropriate response.

Where are you leaving your purse? Don't you have a desk drawer to put it in? This is strange, OP.

For absolutely no reason ..I am shocked and in disbelief
Is this a part of call center culture ?
There's mental illness out there. Compulsive behavior, lack of, or disregard for, personal boundaries. etc. etc.

Interesting. Are these foolproof? Will they go off when you open your own bag?

If you don't have a lock at your desk, buy a backpack for the office that has a security lock. Put your purse in the backpack secured while you're at work. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Antitheft-Bus...+security+lock

I will usually lay my bag below my desk on the floor ..usually if I’m just taking a quick break or going to the restroom sometimes I will even leave my purse on top of my desk because I honestly didn’t feel I had to worry about this type of thing
