I received email notification for one forest service job applied for, but not ofr the other six I applied for? Should I think anything of this? every application says it was received on usajobs site, a generic email from forest service hr just told me to change my notification preferences and ignored i had already received at least one email notification from a job i applied to from them....

First, it's a government web site. It's screwed up, and the process it's a front end for is screwed up. Everyone knows this. Nothing you can do.

Second... why fret? Do you think someone will notice you're upset and expedite the process for you? This system is designed to insulate them from you. They'll let you know if and when they're ready to, or they won't.

Until you have a signed offer letter, you have nothing, and should act accordingly. You do not have these jobs, so you need to keep working at getting a job. Don't feel "hopeful" or think, "Oh, this job is so perfect, I have to get it!" There is no point. Look for work until you have it.

Correct. Keep moving forward and don't look back. You can't tell if you would like the job just from job descriptions or even interviews. If they want to talk to you they will contact you. But in the meantime, do not falter in your job search.
