Title says it all. I hate my current job and would like to know if there's anything easier out there.

Retail, as long as you can handle the hours.

So you want the easiest job that pays the least?

I know how this will come across (and I'm not trying to sound harsh), but they are all pretty easy. That's one of the reasons they pay minimum wage.

The easiest job in my opinion is that of a substitute teacher. It is not a minimum wage job and pays about $10 an hour or a little more, but it is not too far away from minimum wage. It is a white collar profession and commands some respect. It is quite flexible and you only work the days you want. You get summers off. For me, it is an excellent post-retirement job. I don't really need the money but I can claim that I am still in the labor force. I consider it more of a hobby than a job.

Go push carts at your local supermarket. Pays better than fishing here does

Security........sit at a desk, play with the computer and hand out ID tags to visitors.

Not even close imho! I can remember back when we had substitutes and we absolutely walked all over them as kids. In today's day and age I'd rather dig ditches than to be a sub.

I was thinking crossing guard, although if the weather is bad that might make the job intolerable.

I would agree with someone above - security guard.

We have someone here who works for the county and works inside of a little pod on top of a bridge. When a large boat approaches they open the bridge, then close it. So they get to sit on the water all day and open/close a bridge. My dream retirement job!

The easiest job I ever had was dabbing excess liquid off of the Airwick Magic Mushroom air freshners as they came off the production line. That's it. That's what I did for 8 hours, 2nd shift, for about a month. I was a temp.

I didn't mind the job at all, except it was 2nd shift.

I was going through a divorce, and it kept my hands busy, and it kept my brain occupied ENOUGH that I wasn't thinking about the separation, divorce, kids, etc. for a little while.
