Here's a copy of language from a disclosure I signed.
You may be the subject of a “consumer report” which may include information about your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, and/or mode of living. These reports may contain information regarding your criminal history, social security verification, motor vehicle records (“driving records”), verification of your education (including transcripts), employment history, or other background checks.
There's no mention of a credit report. Does this absence mean they're not running a credit report as part of the process?

Credit is a "personal characteristic", however federal law requires your permission to specifically pull a credit report, so this would not suffice since it's not called out. That does not mean they won't do it illegally, however. Some states such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington have passed laws banning or at least limiting the use of credit reports in hiring.
