Just wondering.. Who does this, who has done this, and any tips ?

One of them would be physically intensive; the other, somewhat long hours that can be up to 10 or 10.5 per day.

Third shift overnight into morning, home at like 6:30-7PM

Time to find a job in a location that you can afford to live on one job's income. Otherwise, heart attack city, here you come.

Im working 2 jobs now. Highest amount of hours hit 68. It takes a toll, as personal appointments and a social life almost disappear. If you do this, have a set amount of time with an end date or reachable goal. Avoid temptation after stopping to spend any extra money on partying or junk. This is hard as the feeling of temptation can be huge.

Have something to show for it, either in savings or a car, home, or really once in a lifetime vacation, like visiting the pyramids in Egypt or something cool and awesome like that.

When I first started my business in 1993, times were tough so I took and event job. It was less than you are considering, 5am to 5pm at the business, then drove 1/2 hour, and until 9-10pm at the job. I was home 9:30 or 10:30 to 5am, only, and thankfully it only lasted 6 months when the business got going. It’s hard to be away that long, especially if you have a spouse and kids, and you will be exhausted all the time.

Been there...

Don't expect to be able to go through with it for more than a few months.

I went bald, fat, anti social within weeks of working 2 jobs.

I would cut my lifestyle down to not do this. If I was in a salaried job, I'd be looking for something else immediately.

I did it on and off for about 15 years. I worked full time as an admin assistant, and then worked between 2-5 nights per week waitressing. It's BRUTAL. The only saving grace was that the waitressing job was very flexible so I could just get my shift covered when I didn't feel like working. Conversely, I could pick up extra shifts if I wanted more $$ and was feeling peppy.

I was tired all the freaking time, my health became less of a priority, my social life suffered, and I didn't pay as much attention to my "real job" you know, the one that gave me health insurance, because I had this whole extra income to fall back on. I don't regret it, but I wish I knew then what I knew now.

You're describing working harder. All that does is wear you down. You need to work smarter to get ahead.

You can do it if you are young and single and if it means creating a better lifestyle for yourself in the not-too-distant future.

The lead bookkeeper/front-end supervisor at the *major grocery store chain* location I work at as a cashier is currently doing this in a way. He does not work 2 full-time jobs.

But...

He has a full-time job working somewhere else, and he works part-time as the lead bookkeeper/front-end supervisor at the location I work at on the weekends and during the week.

He used to work full-time at the location both of us work at, but he chose to work a different full-time job in addition to working part-time at the location both of us work at.

His work schedule during the week at the location we work at varies weekly, but he always works on the weekends.

He works on the weekends beginning at 5 a.m. or 5:30 a.m., and he leaves at 1 p.m. or later.

I heard from one of the baggers that he wants to work 10 years for our employer and then leave because he will get his 10 year pension or something like that.

The 10 year mark for him with our employer will be July 2019.

He has many months to go to hit that mark.

His direct boss has commented that she does not understand why he is doing this.

This past Sunday he worked a 12 hour shift or more because he was training a new cashier even though another cashier was also training the new cashier.
