I give it six months before some idiot tries to climb it or otherwise interfere with the equipment and gets hurt in the process.

Yeah, it's happening very quickly in our world (AI, or simple robots to do jobs / tasks).

Wal-Mart is doing away with human cashier / checkers already.

At an airport in the US they have a robots clean the floor. It actually recognizes crowds of people walking, stops, waits, and can go around them.
