My "assumptions" are based on you starting a thread over some meaningless comment. Clearly a confident person would not waste their time with this rubbish. They touched a nerve with you. Something that would not happen if you are fine with who you are. So checkout Tony Robbins or any number of self help experts. Or get into shape.

Perfect time for a snappy comeback. Something like, "Yeah, a few more gallons of ice cream and I could almost wear some of your clothes!" would be just right.

Later on, it beeps and speaks, "Ann I see you reached for a bag of potato chips and have a candy bar in your drawer... if you eat it you will be escorted by the HR Corporate police to the work out facilities for 20 minutes on the treadmill"

Annie just ignore the co worker.
This. Company health insurance policies can be a little intrusive.

Ofcourse I was offended by it. when she asked me for something I said no, you called me fat. Then she was like oh you look good. The extra pounds suits you. You're not fat.I will let it go for now but she makes those remarks again I will report her

Would they overlook this ? Comments like this are hurtful and my clothes already tells me I'm gaining weight and don't need her to point it out. Should I report her?
This is going to be a weird question and it's not meant to offend anybody, but I'm guessing your female coworker who called you fat and told you that you are gaining weight is Black?

I'm Black, and I notice that a lot of Black people do stuff like you mentioned; for some reason, they have ZERO shame commenting on somebody's weight/telling them they are "getting fat" to their face, even if they weigh 400 pounds themselves. Just sayin'...

This was my advice as well. Come back and hit them back harder than they hit you. I PROMISE you they will never again say a single derogatory word about you knowing that you're going to come back and zap them publicly.

I was going to ask if she was Latino. Often Spanish-speaking women I worked with whose families are from the islands would remark on someone gaining weight. They were not trying to be catty or offensive, just making an observation. My Cuban-American friend who struggles with weight says her cousins do that to her when she hasn't seen them in a while and she's put on a few pounds.

And there was a woman I worked with who was very pretty and proud of her looks and figure. When she came back from maternity leave, this Spanish chick saw her in the hall and said, "Oh welcome back and congratulations. Wow, you gained weight!" and went on her merry way. The look on the woman's face was priceless.

Yeah, Caribbean Spanish-speaking islands are basically part of the African Diaspora and many Caribbean Latinos have Black ancestry, so they have more things in common with Black Americans than some people might think. So that doesn't really surprise me at all that Caribbean Latinos do the casual fat shaming thing like Black Americans do...lol.

I think what the co-worker did and said was EXTREMELY disrespectful. On top of that, some of y'all in this thread are piling on and fat shaming her again right now...

Lol, Exactly! I would have said -- You're not exactly a size two yourself. Some people can dish it, but can't take it when it's done back to them.
