Keep in mind, the employer may not know exactly how much your making. The staffing agency bills your employer the full amount (say $75/hour), while you might only be getting half of that ($35/hour). so if they hire someone at 50k a year (vs your 156k/year salary), they are saving over 106k/ year!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will be replaced. The salary they offered was $12k less than I'm making as a temp. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
