No and no notice either. Well, I might work one more day after I knew to taunt a few people though.

Certainly not - I have many HOBBIES (unpaid) that I love. I don't need to get paid to feel like I'm a valuable person!

I would probably work more. I would start a foundation to help older people who don't have high incomes stay at home versus nursing homes (I work in nursing homes). A place where we could get them ramps built, hospital beds, and home care services and respite care for caregivers. I would also do something for residents in nursing homes, so they have access to stores and things they need that the home doesn't provide. Little but very important things, like a phone charger or electric shaver, for whom is next to impossible for residents to get who don't have family. I often buy things for residents now, simple things like a pencil sharpener, or even a belt on occasion (from a thrift shop not brand new).

So I'd go on vacations and play, but I'd "work" in a way that made me happy and allowed me to give back in a setting largely ignored in the world of charity. It would be work, but I think it'd be fun, too. It feels good to make people happy. I would not want to work in a setting with "rules" however. If I want to sleep in I want to be able to.

It would actually be hard to get or keep a job after a lottery win. Most wouldn't put up with anything, they'd probably call out or be late because it didn't really matter, and most employers know that and wouldn't want to deal with it.

Most certainly, definitely not. I am sick of working.

At least for two weeks since it would still take that long for my bank to release the full amount to my account.
Seems the govt likes to trickle that money into a commoners act. Good ole s.e.c regulations.

Tbh, it would be mostly gone in a week. I'm a believer in pay in full. So the home...the family ..and causes would all be funded upfront. After which I'd mosey out to my backyard...hang out my laundry and sip my mint tea. Yeah life would be good.
Til that day comes...work ,rinse,repeat.

Probably would continue work for at least another 4-6 months, because I would want to have something else to occupy my time lined up rather than just quitting with nothing to do.

I have been working full time for 30 years. Hand me 10 million tomorrow, and I am GONE.

What I would do instead: Buy a bigger place with more land and foster greyhounds. Also volunteer at hospitals to read to sick kids. (I know I can do this *now*, but not having to work could free me up to do it during regular 'work hours', if needed.) Be a baby cuddler at hospitals. Volunteer at a local library.

I would travel some. There are places I'd want to see. I couldn't travel a *lot*--I'd want the comfort of my 'home base'. Buy all the books I want. See about a shelter with counselors for homeless vets. Donate school supplies to a needy community so the teachers don't have to buy out of their pockets.

I would be content with this.

Yes. I’d start a non profit or consult in a industry I’m passionate about and not care if I was profitable.

Nothing to do? You'd have millions of dollars. You really couldn't find something to do immediately? I never understand responses like this. How some people think you either work or sit at home all day. Like there's nothing else in life. I could list dozens of things I would want to do immediately if money suddenly was no object and I didn't have to waste all my time at a job.

Heck, I'd be content to just expand on the hobbies I already do now, like biking and photography. If I suddenly had millions of dollars in my bank account, I might just get on my bike right away and ride the Great Allegheny Passage to DC just to relax and contemplate this new windfall of FREEDOM. I've ridden it once before, but had to do it in 5 days....because work. I could only get one week off. I would love to have the TIME to relax and just travel at my leisure and explore and LIVE life. Then plan other things. I always wanted to see a game at every MLB ballpark. Take a road trip across the entire US while doing this until I've seen most everything. Then travel outside the US. I want to learn to fly a plane. I want to learn new languages. Maybe write a novel. Walk the Great Wall of China. See the Pyramids. Go on a safari.... I could go on all day, this is just stuff off the top of my head.

Nothing to do????
