I had a skype interview once where i was seated a good 7' from the camera. I was seated at a desk with my upper half only visible. During the interview the camera slipped and I had to stand up to re-adjust it. Would have been bad if I didn't have pants on!

I have done Skype interviews and worn a suit. I put on the pants because it felt weird without.

I think that I was usually barefoot though.

And make sure that the room you are recording the interview in is clean. I've heard quite a few horror stories from managers about interviewing candidates who had messy rooms showing in the background.

You want to make a good impression. Do the interview in a clean and quiet space.
