OP is not a member anymore. This was likely another make believe scenario by repeatedly banned poster, I’m Retired Now.

I thought this poster was fake after seeing some of the threads created by them. I found this thread to be completely unbelievable, so I'm not surprised they're no longer a member.

She overheard people talking about one of our Accountants making about $75,000 a year.

The Accountant has a Masters in Accounting and a CPA. (Certified Public Accountant) and had to pass all kinds of really hard classes in six years of college and get her CPA, which was very hard. She, the Accountant, is also 27 years old.

The Receptionist thinks it is OK for the Accountant to make a little more than she makes but not three times as much. She says they both work hard and she, the Receptionist, deserves at least 70% of the money the Accountant makes.

What should I tell her?
Are you sure you will still be around next month when according to your other thread only two employees will still have a job? What will your responsibility as office manager be, to supervise the CPA and look pretty

Forget the law the ACA guy signed. It is just plain old, good business world COMMON sense... to not ever share the knowledge of employees wages... amongst the employees.
Employees not knowing what their colleagues who do the same job they do are earning benefits the management, not the employees. Of course it behooves management to keep mum on salaries, because they don't want to have to pay their staff an equitable wage. That's why it's so important for staff to discuss pay amongst themselves.

The OP seems to like to start threads that make women look really shallow and stupid. I wonder what his last user name was?

A lot of people think he's the guy who used to be "I'm Retired Now" or something like that. It's very likely that's who it is. Sure didn't take long for "pretty but odd" to no longer be a member - lol.

That's one of the problems we have now days: people feel entitled to things they have not earned. She's the type that would be a socialist because she doesn't have the gumption to be a capitalist.

Sure. But I sorta think the point of this post was simply to bash people who work in lower-level business occupations.
