Top salespeople can easily make several hundred thousand dollars per year. Especially in financial, tech, and medical sales.

Property and casualty and commercial insurance sales can make pretty good money. It won't happen overnight but once you are able to build up some customers and renewals start flowing in on top of new sales you can have some good years.

Wealth/fund managers can also clear 7 digits (or more)

Of course for every established wealth manager - there are hundreds of analysts/brokers that just passed their FINRA exams and are pulling in less than 50K.

If this was Edward Jones, I have a hard time believing this is realistic for anyone there.

They are also required to go door-knocking to drum up business. This isn't a good sales model anymore.

It was a smaller, boutique firm, not associated with a larger national brand.

That kind of money is impossible at the larger firms.

It's mostly women these days. Not a single male realtor in 100 miles from where I live.

I work in tech sales and the sales people are on a base salary plus commission and bonus compensation plan. The top sales people are compensated in the middle to high six figures.

the most i made on commission is a three-part answer.

1. % of product price. 44 was the highest i got. motivated seller asked me to handle it.
2. $ on a single sale. before taxes: $48,884. hard to forget that figure.
3. best year before taxes: $700K give or take.

Years ago, when $100K was big money, I was selling a million dollars a year on 10% commission. Sales can be very lucrative, if you work hard and pick the right field.
