You are going to drive, not to fly, so it's easy to adjust your personal plan than work. If you could switch shift with your co-worker, that's good. If not, you have to delay your vacation trip for one day. You have to be flexible to be able to keep your job. Very simple.

Just ask around if someone will trade with you. I always ask, even if I think the answer will be no, because sometimes it's yes.

9 hour drive, people leaving at 7 am. I am only staying until Sunday, so idk if flying would be worth it.
