My first job I made $3.25/hour. Worked about 25 hours a week. But then again, we're talking about a part time, after school and weekends job when I was 18 years old.

As far as a full time "professional" job - dates back almost 20 years ago as a social worker. I made about $18k/year.

This all probably relates directly to age. I worked back in 2002 for only $6.80 an hour. That was at or near minimum wage for the time. I've never worked for less except to say that I've done work for free upon request of my family or friends.

Soldering and wire wrapping of printed circuit boards and cables at Teradyne (then in) Chatsworth, CA for $3.30/hour. Minimum wage at the time was $2.65/hour.
These were summer jobs which opened doors to future summer jobs which opened doors to full time jobs after I graduated college. Strongly urge high school kids to work in summer.

Dairy Queen

$5.25/hr federal minimum in early 2006

-----

Worked 27 hours one week, on top of school hours, brought home $120. Now, that's about 3 hours.
