Default Your fired!.. Nevermind your rehired

I was fired a few months ago since I am starting back at school I decided to see if I could go back for the benefits. Welp I called and they said yes but I have to wait a few more months to go back. Anybody else got fired then rehired?

I resigned a job once, the company was forcefully sold (it was a franchise that failed for reasons beyond my actions), and the new owners asked me to come back. I have to admit that I would have been fired if I had not resigned, but those reasons were involved in what they were taken away for.

So, it was kind of convoluted circumstances, but I was quitted and they wanted me to return.

Leaving a company and returning happens all the time. I've done it once. But that's usually based on the employee leaving to pursue another opportunity (and leaving on good terms). One of my past employers actually have an alumni program that allows former employees to stay in touch and search current jobs. The thinking behind that is that the former employee may bring something valuable back and contribute more (perhaps something they could not have learned at their previous position).

Now, if I was fired.... I'm not sure I'd ever want to go back for the sole reason that if they did it once, why wouldn't they do it again? Of course, there are exceptions.... i.e. huge economic shock or an entirely different sector within the company. But I'd say those exception are rare.

I actually did try to reapply after being fired and I had norehire status. Guess they changed their mind.
