Admins don't make a living wage unless they work for Executives... not enough jobs there to make it a goal unless you know people. Now legal secretary or paralegal ahhhhhh, now you're talking money. Lawyers aren't going away anytime soon!
I agree with you that Admins don't make that much money because that is what I do. However, I cannot stand working for attorneys. I have tried twice. They are just too arrogant for me.

Agreed. That is why I bailed out of law school after my second year. I wanted to work with genuinely happy people, not Attorneys.

LOL, I had really bad opinions of attorneys, but I had a temp job working for a pair and they were pretty awesome. Well the female was. The guy had quite an enlarged ego but wasn't a "bad" guy.
Overall though, paralegal work pays decently. Other legal field office work generally pays crap. There seem to be a lot of tightwad lawyers out there. General office work? Only a couple steps (usually a couple bucks an hour) above food service in pay, at least around here where I live.
What about the skilled trades profession such as; plumbing, electrician, locksmith, construction. These all can lead to further certifications with the ICC and lead to higher paying jobs such as Building Inspector/Developer, Code Manager/Officer.

Yeah, some of those pay well. Plumbing requires an apprenticeship or years as a plumber's helper, plus a willingness to sacrifice both knees and your back; Electrician requires many years of study, certs and experience; Locksmith, you could do tomorrow but the certs take a few years, then most locksmiths are self-employed (not a good reason to go to college); Construction is dead and will be for years until the market recovers; Inspector and Code positions, like RE, are dead right now.
Plant process tech, operations. Power plant operations. All the folks who hired on in the 70's and 80's are retiring and there is not many trained people to replace them. Our world has all sorts of manufacturing plants that need to keep running. I work with a group of young people who graduated out of North Dakota with 2 year degrees .They are making a great living already and get job offers all the time.
