Since I am now 50, a couple of the jobs I had when I was younger....the owners are already dead. I still list them and figure no one is out there to give me a bad recommendation.
When listing a job on a resume (a home business) where YOU were "owner/operator" (wife also helped w/business) and YOU decided to close the business.......do you put under the business name- for a job title, Owner and Operator? Or, just leave the job title as what you did? Do I want people to know that the business was mine and I had the main position?
What happens if your former employer sold the business and right now are running under new management and new business name? and all employees are new.
How can I add it into my resume?

If you still have the job offer letter from the former employer along with the letter stating when you left then you will be able to add it to your resume. I'm in the same situation of working for a company that closed down in 2011 but I still have the copy of the offer letter and layoff letter confirming the start and end date.
I use a similar strategy to Norcalmom- list them all as they were when I worked there. And then I usually have atleast one reference for each job. I note if that person was my boss/supervisor/main contractor from the job & that the company is no longer there. I only entered the workforce around 2000 and as of last month all my previous jobs have moved locations. Two have changed who is in charge and one has closed.
