To the op, this isn't to put down your concerns so don't misunderstand my tone. I'm not in your shoes and I'm not working at your job so what may seem not worth worrying about to me might really be bothering you. So don't take this the wrong way.
All I would say is when it comes to lunch who cares? Just go there and do your job, that's all you can control and all you should be focused on. I believe if you work hard good things will happen to you, and your there because you have a job to do, your not there to attend lunch with people. If you just focus on what you need to be doing you'll find this sort of thing bothers you less and less, and probably to the point where it's not even an issue with you anymore. Best of luck to you.

Not me......I want a Big Mac/Fries/Coke also or a nice steak!! As far as the comment below, "work hard, good things will happen to you......not sure about that when it comes to Review time and it's only a 35 cent raise for a year of hard work . As far as the comment below, "not there to attend lunch with people.......oh yes you are and oh yes you want to!! Hey, I want some of those "bene's" that the "Brass" get/have!!

Mo' money in my pockets since I don't go out anymore w/ my co-workers.
We used to go out 3-4 days per week. I prefer to bring my own lunch, sit by myself and eat and check out the internet
So what's in your wallet?

Geeze, I'd find that rude, but really do you want to have lunch with them really? If you do ask them out to lunch sometime. If you don't really like them then come to work for your job not your social life, which is hard cause work is 40 hours per week of your waking life... or more.

I mean NEVER. They go around asking everyone else BUT me. I think that's rude.
They even ask my ADMIN if she wants something or wants to join them for lunch but not me. I am not a bad person, I am actually funny and fun to be around. The one good thing about this is that my supervisor has built up a reputation (not a good one btw) and being seen with her may not actually look good for me.
I want your opinions. Do you bother to ask the people in your dept., area if they want to get something to eat when you are asking everyone else in their presence??
I would....
But I don't b/c they are already long gone before I even have the chance of asking.
I tell you this whole office clique stinks and I can't wait to get outta here.
Too bad b/c I really love my actual job.

Well I went out to eat with my admin and another coworker just now. The same ones I go out to eat with when I do go out. The "ringleader" is back and her assistant wanted to know where we were going but they wouldn't tell us where THEY were going. Kinda childish don't you think??? I think they were trying to avoid us.
Oh well...I don't miss going out to eat with them, it's the whole asking everyone what they want to order and NOT asking me! I think it's just RUDE. If I go around asking people I ask everyone, in fact I send out an email to email me their order if they want something say from SONIC etc. Maybe it's just me I try to be polite.

Boy am I glad I have a job where I work completely alone
This sounds SO high-school, but I don't think there's anything you can do about it. Enjoy lunch with your admin and the coworkers who you do spend lunch with. As far as the others-f*** 'em. Unfortunately, it is unlikely they will change their audacious ways. You're doing the right thing by being polite, you're the one being the better person, and that's all you can do. By letting them get to you, you're giving them the upper hand. Please don't get yourself upset over it; they are not worth it! It's too bad that there are so many adults in the world who never progressed beyond 9th grade. Good luck to you...

CTR36,
I had a boss like that who did exactly the same thing.
Considering she has a lousy rep at work, consider yourself lucky not to be part of her clique. This person IS rude and should be embarrassed because I'm sure others have noticed the slight, as well.

This reminds me of when I was working in the office years ago. I would make the lunch runs for everyone on the same side of the building as my department. I would ask all the employee's to order the standard sandwich and not all the "no this and not that and extra this and more of this" types. Imagine an order for 15 people with special instructions? Anyway, there was one woman, no matter how many times I've asked her to make the order simple, she would hold me up for ten minutes (I only have one hour lunch break) explaining how she wanted her perfect lunch brought back to her. About the 5th time after taking everyone's order including this one woman, I got fed up and would just ask a few different close peers to run with me on different days, just the two of us. People would ask me, "why did you stop the lunch runs?" as I actually liked getting out of the office for an hour. I just simply stated that it got too complicated taking everyone's orders. If I had avoided, by-passed this one woman, she found me on the way out the door.

I always hate getting lunch in with a bunch of other people, or going to get lunch for a bunch of people. I always ended up getting stiffed for $$ because someone didn't pay enough, you have to figure out change, or you get an order wrong or the restaurant does... it's a pain. I always would eat in except for one day I went out by myself or would be a couple friends out.
They sound childish, and I would watch your back, because if you don't fit in with their clicque, they could can you at the drop of a hat. Get out of there.
