Default How to go about learning Spanish?

I seen "bilingual preferrable" to many times. Any recommendations?

There are online (free classes) as well as pay ones. You can go to nightschool. You can also get out language tapes/cds/computer disks from the library for free.
Make friends with a Hispanic person who speaks Spanish.

You can learn it but if you want to be bi-lingual for job purposes your average class will not prepare you to be 'fluent enough.'

To really learn a language you need to be fully immersed in the culture.

In many cases bilingual is code word for illegal immigrants. And that's basically saying, "We want people we can exploit and spend little money doing it". I've seen the whole bi-lingual in job ads for dishwasher, busser, cook, and landscaper. That should tell you something.

Also, you can learn Spanish from Rosetta Stone and by watching Univision and other Spanish-language channels, as well as associating with people who speak Spanish.

I'm looking at gov't positions, but regardless, I've heard good and bad about Rosetta Stone? Do you know much about it? I, like eveyone else, has seen their ad's.

So is the IRS exploiting illegal immigrants? Puleez!! Some major corps have a need and a demand for such.
