I just called and left a message saying I was interested in the position.
Here the pay starts out at 10.75, which is much better than my last job.
$17.50....I'd be ecstatic!!

I just downloaded the app and will call my local office on Monday. They pay 13.50/hr here in NC. Sweet. Hiffy, I will dm you about the sample job. Hey thanks for the information!!

Yeah, it definitely depends on the area as far as pay rate goes.

I called today and the guy was like I don't know if you read the paper but we are filled.

They had like 6k positions and started hiring this month

Just for the record, here's something the Census Bureau doesn't tell you when they put out the call every decade...

I happened to be unemployed at the time of the 2000 Census, and as they were going to be hiring quite a few people to do the surveys in my humble little hometown (NYC), I headed over to the local office they'd established, and put in my application.

I happened to overhear a conversation in the adjacent room. They weren't going to hire me, because I'm white. "We've already got enough whites," said this representative of an official government agency. So if you happen to apply and you wind up not getting hired, it isn't necessarily because they're fully staffed. The Census Bureau plays the racial quota game, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
