No offense meant to the OP but it's hard to just pick up and get a job like this when you are unskilled.

Most places just want a person who can do a job running, no training.

There is a REASON this job pays $20 an hour.
and that's not even considering people who are older in age.
My husband is 46 and was laid off a month ago (he's IT).

I think he's going to have issues because of his age. (he's getting into copywriting instead.. he hates IT anyway)

Maybe it's bad on the east coast, but there are mills of customer service jobs and science jobs on the internet, on the west side.

If things get bad folks, jump ship and move.

Funny this thread went from people saying no jobs anywhere to justifying why they wouldn't relocate for a $20/hr job.
The American Way.

Oh we'd relocate we're just particular about where we would relocate. Someone just needs to offer a job LOL

He's applied in NoDak, SoDak, MT, Wyoming, Idaho and AK... notice a trend LOL

N east coast or South for us and we came from the West (Calif and Nv) and WILL NOT go back there... We want to go up north... Regardless come March/April we are on the road to AK after selling our household goods.
