Has anyone here ever filed a complaint with the eeoc? Specifically on the issue of pregnancy? I would like to find out any details involved and what kind of evidence is needed to prove a claim...before actually filing. It seems thus far that the lawyers I have spoken with expect to have everything in writing from the employer, i.e. reason for termination: pregnancy.

You don't have to go with an expensive attorney or lawyer (who usually want thousands of dollars up front and a 33-40% if you win). The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) allows Employees filing EEO Complaints to choose who they want to represent them in any and all stages of the EEO Process. You have the right to choose be represented by an individual who is not an attorney, including: coworkers, family members, friends, and paralegal professionals. EEO Advocates are Professional Para-Legal Representation For Employees Filing An EEO Complaint Informal, Formal, and Administrative Hearings. 937-416-9143 or help@eeoadvocates.com Good luck to you

If you find a company that is stupid enough to admit that you were released because of a pregnancy, you probably don't want to work for them as they'll not be in business long. If you can document via email, conversations heard by others, etc. that back up the claim, that's what you need to bring to the table. Just like harassment or age discrimination, it's a very, very difficult claim to prove. However, I wish you all the best in doing so.
