Do you HATE YOUR JOB?
If so, why do you stay at that job? Do you feel stuck?
If you feel stuck, WHY do you feel stuck? Is there no way out?
So many people hate their jobs and I wonder why they stay there... are we all so buried in debt that we're enslaved to the income that these despised jobs provide?

I'll be the first to admit that my husband and I were irresponsible with our money when we were younger and bought things on credit cards that we couldn't afford. I'm still paying on that debt and so I must stay in the job that I hate, as must my husband, if we want to continue to be responsible and pay off the debt that we accumulated.
Of course I also get health insurance through my company and that is another reason to stay with them, as is the education reimbursement they will offer to me when I return to work.
We have changed our ways and we are no longer spending money we can't afford to. I've just paid off one credit card and closed the account.
My husband is currently enrolled in the local community college to get a degree in a field that he wants to be in so he won't have to stay at a job he hates.
Once he gets a job in his field, if it offers medical and dental then I can quit the job I hate so much and get one that I at least don't dread going to everyday.

I don't hate the job but it sure as hell gets on my nerves. I could probably deal with it more if I made a few more bucks per hour. I deal with so much Bull from our clients.
I am working on 1) My home based business 2) Finding a new job until business takes off.
I pray like hell that I have my first client by the end of the year.

I don't hate my job. I dislike it because I really can't do anything operation wise; I can't really make any changes to any of the systems without consulting with one of the network engineers.
I do feel stuck in my position because it's really a dead-end job that pays well, and I guess I'm getting complacent because of the pay.
For me, a way out is proactively seeking additional classes as it relates to my job so that I'll be able to make the jump to another place of employment. Hopefully that will allow me the freedom to do what I want to do, even if that means starting out at a lower wage.

I wish I had a job to hate. Being unemployed and home 24/7 with everyone complaining stinks.

As mentioned, it gets on my nerves sometimes. No job is perfect and everyone has days they don't want to go to work. I would be lying to you if I told you every day was ideal for me.
I don't plan to stay where I am forever and do have dreams and goals outside of this job.
However, given the state of the economy now, I can't afford to leave it and am fortunate and grateful to be working now. In reality, there are people lining up for jobs now and would be thankful to have one.

Or is it that they'd just be thankful to have the income stream?
If I were given my choice between my job with its salary, or the same salary for no work, I'd take the money without the work... and then do stuff like write books, give talks, and perform music. Ahhhh... working toward making that my career... any of y'all Central Texans who want to hire a musician?

I hate my job and my company. Too bad I am in property management and live on one of our properties at the moment. I hope this townhouse goes through because i will be actively looking to switch companies.
Here's the deal: Last year I complained repeatedly about someone I worked with because they always called in, never did their job, and talked about me to employees (I was running the place until the manager got there-for almost a month). So after complaining on a daily basis for a couple of weeks, and nothing was done about it (I was left to work alone on so many occassions I have lost count)-I vented out on my blog. The blog was set on private but available to view to friends. This person looked into the history on one of the computers, saw my friends was still logged in and snooped through my friend's blog to mine. She then proceeded to print everything out and got the manager to call corporate on me. I was demoted, written up and transfered. After 2 weeks I was transfered again and promoted back to my position, but took a HUGE pay cut. Well, this person just 3 weeks ago wore another empyee's mug shot in her back and pointed it out to clients. She even lied about doing it. She was never written up and never demoted or fired. She was written up 2 weeks ago for always calling in-she calls in at least 3-10 times a month. They just promoted her yesterday...WTF!?

I loved my last job as a real estate title examiner...something new every day, wear what ever I wanted as long as I could get into the court house with it on, it was totally working from a home environment got my work off a secure database and only communicated with my boss via email, fax and company paid cell phone.
If I could get it back I do it again in a heartbeat!
I have had plenty of jobs I hated over the 30+ years of working, most of them were in the health field as an LPN.
