Default Interesting information I found about Thank you letters after a interview.

This woman I talked to last night who hired people in the past told me that when she interviewed several candidates for a position, after the interview it was only the people she wasn't interested in who sent thank you letters and the ones she was interested never sent a thank you letter.

Found that to be very interesting

And your point? Your saga continues to be titillating from a rather absurd standpoint. Cheers!

Perhaps she likes "bad boys" who will give her a black eye when it comes to men too.

It does make sense. Since people who have the experience, education, live in the area, with a healthy disposition, often get snatched up before they have a chance to send a thank you note. Personaly, I have only sent two in 20 plus years and those were jobs, I really wanted.
But I think women, and yes, i am being sexist, appreciate them more.

I feel, that if you really want the job, then send a thank you note, noting how grateful you would be for the opportunity to work for Bill Gates or your other ideal company...

However, neither time, that i sent the thank you note, did i get the job. ;-)

I've sent thank you notes before after interviews and there have been times where I haven't. I don't think it's a deal-breaker for employers though to not hire someone because they didn't send a thank you note. It is polite and courteous, but not fully convinced it helps.

I never send Thank You notes. They are either interested in me or they aren't. I have never had trouble finding work. To me Thank You notes are a sign of Desperation and Desperation is not a turn on.

iarch is on a distinguished road
I usually only send a thank-you letter after the 2nd interview, because I know I am in the running and the letter may give me the edge I need.
But I honestly don't know of anyone who has ever gotten a job after they sent a thank you letter.
Also, if you think about it, why are you thanking them: they are paid to interview you, you spent the money on gas, and they never tell you if you are in the running, unless they call you for a 2nd interview.

Why should we send employers thank you letters when they no longer send us any "thank you for applying but........... " letters????

They all used to send them even if it was an automated form letter. I guess it would cost them too much money to send out those thank you for applying letters to 10,000 people who applied for the one job.
