I need help with some wording on one part of my resume. I am applying for a part time admin position at a veterinary clinic. I've not worked for a veterinarian before but I take a very active part in my own dogs and horses healthcare so I know I have a better grasp than most of the field (not trying to say I can be a vet, just that I understand the terminology and other aspects more than the general population does).
I am just trying to word it in a way that sounds professional and gets my point across but for some reason I just can't find the right words.

You said it right there. In your cover letter, you can say, "Though this will be my first position with a veterinarian, I take a very active part in the care of my own dogs and horses healthcare and have an excellent understanding of the terminology and other aspects of animal care".
Unfortunately, I could not figure out what phrase you wanted translated. However, I have worked as a lab assistant lab worker....I got hired, with no experience, only being a biology student. I would suggest saying you have studied biology and providing your transcript or takig the GRE graduate studiies test and taking the science section, and you can put this on your resume or you CAN volunteer as a lab assistant and prove your expertise that way..:=) good luck!
