Fascinating. You're unemployed and have not received a job offer. But you still think you can cancel an interview just like that? Don't you think that at the very least, you ought to check it out? (And the bit about the neighborhood was just plain silly. Although I guess you think you have the luxury of turning down a potential job just because you don't like where it's located. If you wanted this thread to get any more surreal than it already was, which I didn't think possible, you succeeded!)

But It was almost a situation where I had a interview the last three days of this week but they coukdn't pencil me in for friday.

My aspidistra is groaning and my portaculas are hemorrhaging while my little pansies are wilting because nothing was ever mentioned again about all those Very Important People in Manhattan who were supposed to be just swooping you up in a heartbeat once you had played all your devilishly clever interview tricks on them. Glad the Top Coat (I rather like the capital letters) is almost back in the closet so at least the nervous sweat doesn't stain it ... what on earth kind of a day would it be on CD without a blow by blow from you. Too horrible to contemplate. Yawn.

Cancel a Interview?? I said we both agreed to meet on Friday at 10am and then the lady called back and asked could I come in on Thursday and I told her Friday was my only free day for this week and that's when she scheduled me for NEXT THURSDAY. I said that I HOPE i can cancel the interview before next Thursday depending on what happens between Tomorrow and next Tuesday.

Yeah I have yet to hear anything from the people I was in contact last week in NYC but atleast it's turning out to be a productive week with Two Job Interviews.
This is the first week since being laid off in January that I had two interviews in one week.

OK, I haven't read all the posts so if I'm redundant, I apologize. To begin with, why are the interviews nerve racking? Seriously, by now you should have your personal marketing pitch down pat and the only variable will be a few questions that they'll ask you. That's the mindset (re: confidence) that you need to have.
As for having two interviews in one day, you need to learn to handle that as well. You should only hope that you interview with someone and they conclude the interview by saying, "Since you're here, I took the opportunity for you to meet with a few of the other team members and one of the other managers." Would you be able to deal with that or would you have a meltdown? You won't be able to post to CD between the interviews.
Unless one of the positions is for sanitation engineer and the other one is for nuclear physicist, how different do you expect the interviews to be? They're in the same general line of work presumably.

It just may conflict with the other interview because of time or location so it's best to spread them out.

This has nothing to do with what JTGJR just said...do you even read the responses people bother to type you?
