I've been working at Wal-Mart for about 3 weeks now.
I figured my body would get used to the hours I spend on my feet but no such luck. My shoulders and back also hurt a lot due to some of the lifting I have to do and all the reaching I have to do in order to scan products.

Does anyone recommend a certain brand of shoes that are good for standing for long hours?
I'm willing to spend no more than $80.

Dr Scholls has some good shoes for standing, they're like nurses shoes, in fact I think they have them at Walmart. I use them, some have high arches, and also come in wide sizes. Work for me. Good for hard flat surfaces, lots of concrete.

Swim, work out, do sit-ups to build your back muscles.

Learn how to lift...There are safety videos on U-Tube.

I worked at UPS,,,filling Trucks...my body was in pain 2 weeks after I quit that job, and I am an ex-ballet/modern dancer... ....some jobs are just hard on the body...!

Chef shoes also work well for comfort, but not if you have weak ankles.

good luck!!

Try rockports - they are really comfortable shoes, and they have ones that are good for standing.

If you can find them, 50 Peaks hiking boots. The only pair of shoes/boots that let me stand and run around for 8 to 12 hours without making my feet hurt.
