How do you managers keep morale up with budget cuts, staff shortages, constant uncertainty, etc...

Well, i will try to speak for my manager. He is not to far away from retirement. They are still hiring and firing despite the budget cuts. Regarding uncertainity, they still have a job to do, which is to educate children.

Speaking for someone in my family who is a manager. They have cut out the fancy lunches and decreased international travel and are sharing support staff and have made sure the incoming people actually know both the quantitative and qualititative parts of their jobs!
