I am thinking to try another job while on vacation time(PTO) from my current job. What you think? Any issue will arise? My current job is not bad, I just don't want quit the current job to try another job. But I always want something better.I appreciate your advice very much.

Risky. My employer requires an ethic disclosure for any other employment including some volunteer work. If your company has a some type of employee/personnel manual, read it carefully.

It is still legal though. I am a ethical person. My employer cancels my shift when the business is slow. I just don't want to be too passive.

I know someone that tried this, it didn't have a good ending.

One of the vendors who did business with both companies saw her at the new place and asked her old boss when she had quit.

She got fired as a result, and the manager at the new job hadn't realized that she was still employed at the old job, so he canned her as well.

She's been unemployed since December. She is a professional with a masters.

The only way I'd use PTO from one job to work another would be when they are completely unrelated and both employers fully understand the situation. I used to use a PTO day from my day job to open the store on Black Friday when I was working p/t in retail. My f/t boss knew I worked at the retail store p/t, he used to bring his kids in to buy stuff from me. He had no problem with me taking that day off every year. Obviously there was no conflict of interest and that was the only day each year that job even remotely "interfered" with my f/t job.

There is no conflict of interest here. I will tell my boss first. Thank you.

So, what are you going to tell your boss. That you're going to try another job and see which one you like better?? Sounds risky.
