I have a former boss as a facebook friend. I work a seasonal p/t position and it is a way for all of us who return every year to stay in touch. It was made clear to us that if we wanted to stay in the loop we should be friend each other. That said, I do have restricted access for the former boss and coworkers.

For my current employer--absolutely not, no way. I don't befriend current coworkers, either. There have been situations where I've felt like I *had* to confirm certain colleagues so I do and then drop them. FB doesn't notify them that they've been dropped and they don't notice--at least they haven't so far.

I have a couple of former bosses as facebook friends, but my current one isn't a computer guy--he barely does e-mail, so he's not on facebook.

As long as you aren't doing or saying anything that would be inapproropriate and have a good relationship with the boss, why not?

Exactly, you know what your relationship is and how it goes. My old boss I would without a doubt. I love my new boss but we have not bonded like my old boss, so no I would not add her.
