If you experienced this in a staff meeting at work, would you want to work with this person ever again?
Today we had an important staffing meeting and the boss was just ripping us apart and saying that everyone better step their game up or they will be written up. Then all of a sudden, this female coworker of mine gets up from the table and starts crying and leaves the meeting????????
Well I always thought she was odd but today confirmed she needs help because no grown a$$ normal woman is supposed to run out of a staff meeting crying because the boss is beating us up in the meeting. I don't even know if I can make eye contact with her again after that pathetic moment. Most shocking Moment at a job in my life.

Sounds like she feels personally guilty or just can't hack working in the business world.
Is it her first job? Is she very young?
Bosses like to 'beat up' the staff...in some way some of them think it will motivate people to do better.
At least he did not point out individuals.

You don't know what her story is.
Stress?
Maybe she's a single mom with a kid at home and desperately needs the job and talk like that just scared her. Right now it would scare about anyone.
The first time I ever had to fire a man it was the hardest thing to do in my life because you don't what what it does to other people.

They do? Musta missed that lesson in boss school and I was a boss in the military, a boss in law enforcement and a boss in state administration. My management style was very inclusive and colaborative. Where did I go wrong?

Well, you sound like a nice boss. A lot of poor managers do 'like to shake up' the staff verbally. Guess it deflects from any criticism they might get.
