Not only from those who are unemployed, but from the underemployed too. A lot of people have also been taking jobs which are under their usual pay and skill set, just to have some income. Everyone is jockeying around the jobs that pay well. I see it here all the time. Lowest level is retail. Then office jobs...everyone wants want because of the steady hours/M-F.

Main problem here...hiring freezes all over. In retail, you must be available at any day or time. That cuts out anyone who has other responsibilities.

Unless you're in high school or college.
A lot of big box retailers like the young kids because you don't have to give them benefits and they aren't going to be demanding higher wages.

Too bad this country has such unfavorable feelings towards unions...they would do us some real good.
