I would think that there would be more work in Las Vegas. It's a bigger city than Albuquerque.

Gosh, no. Albuquerque has a developed economy, with some tech, research, etc. It has hardly been hit like overblown bubbles like Las Vegas, that has only one industry- gambling/tourism/real estate bubbles.
I think Albuquerque is a great place to look for a job. It would be high on my list if I was leaving LV.

I'm in ABQ, we have a somewhat steadier job market than LV. OP, try posting on the Albuquerque forum here, you might get some suggestions. Be sure to state what job field you're looking for work in, or what industry your experienced in, for the most useful replies.
