So just to be clear, i'd have to go to a community college all the way in Delaware for 2 years in order to do this?

Ok how about the restaurant inspectors? if you have advise on that, that would be cool.

As far as I know there are three schools. One in Washington state, one in Illinois and one in Delaware. There might be one or two more that I am not aware of. I assume each school is different but one I know allows for considerable online studies with (not sure about this) maybe six months to a year being required to be on campus.

The last thing I would want to see is 100 schools pop up around the country spitting out 5,000 graduates a year... if that would happen we'd be hurting. Look at it from the prespective the more regulated it is, the more scarce/expensive training is, the better it is for those doing the work. When it comes to regulation we're probably the most heavily regulated construction trade there is.

Future schools opening? I don't see it there's not any instructors... we're all busy.

Nobody is going to hire a trainee right now it's easier, not to mention cheaper, to poach from another company.

And finally I don't know much of anything having to do with other kinds of inspectins.

Physicians and surgeons at hospitals.

Not blue collar and definitely not an office/cubicle job.

Field geologist.

I recently spent 15 field days working in a canyon somewhere in western Colorado. I saw two bands of wild horses in my field area. I just got my BS in geology, but I did a lot of field work as a student also.

Should have thought about job environments before getting a polisci degree.

People in your situation generally go back to grad or professional school. Especially since you're not imaginative enough to think about the kinds of self-employment catered towards field work.

Huh?
we are saying create this for yourself... you seem to be going for the very structured environment for this... and well, you probably aren't going to be happy... you should be racing your brains for these ideas...

hint hint... you can do plenty of things from a computer and be mobile...
there are plenty of other trades that can do this as well... Uhh.. pretty much anything to do with sales.

I would stop looking for a company to provide this for you though and do it yourself, on your terms. Figure out how to hustle and make a $.

if you want some kind of prestige and status however... which lots of people who do poli sci do, it might not be for you... and you might not find this job fit.

If you are going to take the path less taken however, you gotta give yourself some serious stress and start thinking outside the box.
