I lost my job in mid-June 2009 and found my present one in Mid-Oct 2009. I applied at 70 places and had 7 interviews altogether. I now work in a call-center for Sears.
Mickey, I remember you from last fall. Hang in there! Did you ever hear anything else from the state position? If not, I'm sorry.
No, never got the job there. My neighbor works there (she's the one who told me about the job). They ended up "hiring" 12 people for those positions - but only calling 3 of those people in to train for the job and work!
I was laid off 1/25/09, effective 1/20/09. I'm still looking.
