Off the wall question here and bear with me, it is wordy...

If a hardworking and reliable employee of yours of the past 10 years came to you and said they were trying to relocate out of state with their family (to a state that had a company that yours did business with and you possibly had connections to help them get a job at said company, making relocating easier) would you:

A) Happily do what you could to help them, after all they gave you 10 good years;

B) Feel put off because you would be losing an employee and tell them to go take a hike; or

C) Something in between?

Thanks for any and all insight!

It depends on the management, and your relationship with them. There is no one on these threads, that can answer that. You are the only one that knows your managers well enough to answer that question. All the rest of us can do is guess, and guesses are not worth very much.

Trust yourself to answer that question. If you ask and won't offer to help, you know you have tried. If you ask, and they want to help and do, you would never know by not asking.
