What are the "key words" or "key phrases" you are using in your resume? Because all are done electronically companies are using key word filters. If you don't have them you are kicked out in the first round. RP

It depends on your line of work. Key phrases for a nursing resume would be very different than key phrases for a marketing resume.

Key words on your resume should reflect the description of the job you are applying for. When they transmit your resume, the highest % of words that match the description will come out on top.

Also, there are action verbs you should always use. Words like monitored, implemented, coordinated, developed, designed, integrated, led, met, etc.

I usually go to the career self-service section at local bookstores and see what's the latest in terminology, use, and composition as well as sample letters, resumes, and cover letter. Also, the key action verbs and usage differ depending on your occupation.

Just pull key words form the job posting and integrate them into your resume (as long as they relate to your experience!).
