Workplace mobbing is really becoming a widespread issue. I keep hearing about it all the time on this forum.
I hear it on this forum as well as off this forum. I have several people that tell me how they get treated at work. I find it disgusting and it should not be happening.
Is there anything a person can do in these situations?
But isn't this just the type of attitude that perpetuates this behavior? "So your boss/upper management is being inappropriate by making sexually suggestive remarks or even going as far as to touching or groping you? Well, having a job where you're being harassed beats not having a job at all."
I've been in this situation, and I've been pretty much been told this by more than one person. Just a few years ago, I can't imagine anyone thinking this was acceptable behavior in the workplace, just for making a paycheck.

Yes, I agree. It goes both ways. Having a job doesn't mean your life is problem-free. I think if we want respect from our employed peers, we have to give it too.

Anyone that thinks having a job where you are being mistreated is better than not having one at all needs to have their heads examined. I do agree with your post annika.
I'm moving to LA in a few weeks without a job (pleeeease refrain from preaching lol).
I am not stupid, I prepared myself for this - mentally and financially.
Anyway, the phrase I'm sick of hearing is: "Do you have a job lined up?"
When I say no, some people shake their heads, and some say: "You just have to be at the right place at the right time".

Why does it matter to them whether or not you have a job lined up? It's none of their business, unless of course they have a direct job lead.

That's why i cut off communication with pople who constantly asked me that dumb question. Worst thing you can a unemployed person if you have no job lead after the answer you receive is NO.
I hate it when I tell people I have been looking for a entry-level marketing position since 2007, that they say, " have you tried monster or careerbuilder?" Well, who hasn't...duh.
I also hate it when people say, "you gotta be agressive." What do you think I do? Wave a magic wand and hope an employer calls me back? Every time you call to follow up on a job, the employer gets a sarcastic tone with me and says, " well, obviously, if you havent heard anything, we have moved on or haven't looked at your resume. We will call you if we do."
UGGGHHHHH!
