Default Coworker was relieved of regular duties because she is on a "special assignment"

I was really thrown off by this today because one of my coworker who was scheduled to do a orientation was taken off the schedule and had my orientation moved up because she is on a "special assignment"???

Well since me and my supervisor have a wonderful relationship tomorrow I will want to know more about this assignment and why she wasn;'t chosen.

She basically was excluded from something that we all hate doing but we do it once a month because it's part of the responsibilities of a Career Advisor.

I defintely will have a special assigment in April. I see I have to keep my eyes on this girl with her sneaky A$$

Trying to interpret your ranting.

1) your co-worker got a special assignment
2) this threw you off and you had to do an unpleasant duty
3) because you had to do that unpleasant duty your co-worker is now, in your estimation, a "sneaky ass"
4) you are going to question your supervisor about this co-worker's special assignment

I'd keep my mouth shut if I were you. Your co-worker was obviously singled out for other duties. To expect her to do those duties, especially as it sounds like it takes a type of expertise, and her normal duties is probably unrealistic from a management standpoint. If you were management you'd understand that.

By challenging your supervisor you are marking yourself as a malcontent and may warrant "special attention" come evaluation time.

Or are you just complaining in your roundabout way that you didn't get the "special assignment"?

I'm not challenging anyone, I just need more information about this assigment and is she excluded from this duty for good.

Why do you need to know if she is excluded from duty for good? You do what you are told, end of.

It's absolutely none of your business. Do what you're employed to do and leave it at that otherwise you'll be in the unemployment line again.

Because all the other career advisors will start wondering why she is no longer apart of what we all have to do and have the same job title. I would feel a lot better if she was given a different job title since she has been pulled out of what we all still have to do

It isn't your job to decide whether or not her assignment is a good business decision or whether or not she should have a different job title or to hand-hold the other people with the same rank and position as you. If they have questions they can speak up for themselves and ask, and their manager can answer them.

Poor Grasshopper, you have as many petty issues with the workplace as you do with the love life. And what's with, "I would feel a lot better if she was given a different job title ...etc."? You make a lot of assumptions about your coworkers' feelings on the subject at hand and whether or not it would make you feel better is irrelevant since you're just one of many peons in the workplace, not a manager.

I think what they should do is let her keep the same job title, but give her a big raise. Like a $10,000 raise. And make sure everybody knows about the raise so that you won't have to nose around to see what's what.

Then you should come here and report to us all about it. That's what I'd like.

Also if they gave her like the best office in the place and brought in a basket of kittens for her. No explanation. No change of job title.
