The people saying not to judge an entire generation based on 1 bad apple have a point. I am 18 and I would never think to call someone that late. I likely wouldn't even be up that late. If she was up at 12:28 on a weeknight, that should tell you something. Either she dropped out of high school so she doesn't have to wake up early or she doesn't get enough sleep. Even if she was expecting to just get voicemail, it should be a red flag that she was even awake.
And yes, a lot of young people are clueless when it comes to not calling past a certain time.
