I wonder how many of you would take a job for just a few weeks if you knew you were going to move to a new place soon or just pass on it because it was not right for you to go through training and waste the employer's time (hiring/training new people costs money in paperwork and so forth).

I personally would not. I was offered an interview this afternoon through my agency but I passed it up because I don't believe it is fair to the employer as I have no intention of staying here past June or July. (waiting for the school year to end).

I haven't been looking for a job here since December anyhow.

It didn't mean I was a shoo in but I have a lot of similar experience.

This was not a low level job, but rather a rather high skilled administrative job similar to the one I did in 2008 for the same agency. I am sure by the time I 'got up to speed' and learned it well, I would be moving away.

I'm interested in your opinions. I really also could not commit to the hours (they wanted someone 40 hours a week and were not negotiable). I have to have a bit less in order to drive my son to and from school and to his activities.

It was great to be asked though! I hope this means some of the out of state resumes I am sending get a response.

I was in your same situation a couple of months ago, but now I'm wishing I would've took it. I have been applying to out of state jobs for a little over 6 months now with little to no bites. I think employers see out of state and figure it's just easier to higher within. So now my buddy took the position and is reaping all it's rewards while I'm stuck looking for something else.

I know this is always a risk. It was just an interview not a job, though. Last time they sent me on an interview, they also sent 3 other people from the agency AFTER trying to convince me that was the best job in the world.

Agency people can really take advantage of workers, and the idea of giving them a stake in my pay again irks me.

But the bottom line is I can't do the hours they want and 'no matter what' we are moving sometime this summer.
