So then you should be sympathetic and encouraging instead of flippant.

The article makes it seems like he is not supposed to be in that situation. Like who is Matt? He is no different than any other recent college grad

Eh, you're totally missing the point. Like completely.

The point is there will not be jobs waiting for you after college, you have to market yourself the right way

Thanks for posting this. It made me feel better. I have a decent job right now, but I want to relocate, so I'm looking for a new job in my target city. I've sent my resume to 30 different places and haven't gotten a single interview. After reading this, though, I'm not tempted to take my lack of success personally.

No. The article reflects the overall problem. And each individual effected by the problem should be sympathized with.

I recently earned a master's degree. And nobody even cares about that. They like my current part-time work experience doing nothing but the basics. lol.
Isn't that sad? I've heard from a lot of people that a Master's degree in my field is a waste of time. I've heard that employers in my field are actually turned off by Master's degrees because they think you'll expect more money. Which makes sense...I'd expect more money if I had more expertise. I guess that would be another one of those entitlement issues that everyone is talking about?

Yeah, one of the many things that shies me away from pursuing my masters. I don't want to look too qualified or look like I am someone who deserves more pay than what they would be willing to offer. All of that sweat, blood, and tears only to be turned off by employers because of how over-qualified you look.
