Bahia,Brazil
The nices and sweetest part of Brazil is Bahia,I was there in 1995,it is so quiet and nice, people are so gentle.I wonder how much has it changed.

I was there in 1981, it's quite an exotic place. The African culture beats strong there. Brazil is a great place to explore, dozens of neat coastal cities and towns. I've traveled around Brazil by bus, which is an adventure in itself. So vast and unique, but can't sugar coat around the problems that still hang over many parts of that country.

I was born in Bahia! Yes, it is absolutely beautiful there and the people are so nice and friendly. I still have family and wish I could visit more often! Last time I went was in '94. You are right though, lots of social issues but man would I love to go during carnival one day!

dragon- I LOVE the food and black beer there. I'm not much of a drinker but the black beer makes my mouth water - as does the coconut drinks. YUM!
