There are not seven distinct civilizations only 4. Judeo-Christian civilzation which encompases the Americas, Europe, Australia and the vast area of the Russians. They are Christian and trace their language , alphabet and religion back to the region ruled by Rome 2000 years ago. Roughly 1/3 of the worlds people is in this civilization. The Islamic civilzation traces its religion back to the same Judeo-Christian roots but uses a very different written language (Arabic script). The third civilzation is the Indian civilzation which has a polytheistic religion and again a un ique form of writing. The 4th distinct world of man is that of China which has religions that in some cases are atheist and uses a language based on a pictographic form of writting. Areas like Africa, SE Asia or Central Asia are areas influenced by one of the 4 civilzations. For example Africa south of the Sahara has regions where the influence of nearly 100 years of Judeo-Christian rule is seen.
Mestizo people are a very small minority in most of South America... Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay have very small mestizo populations... Brasil by itself represents half of South America and the dominant ethnicity there are European and African... sure most brasilians might have native blood, but a lot of American do... But like the US there isn't a large mestizo culture... people will accept there African and European ancestory and know next to nothing about the natives of the area... As the carribbean mestizos are non-exisint... Central America/Mexico have a large mestizo population however, countries like Costa Rica, Panama, and Belize and even Mexico have large groups of other people... So i think it is very unfair to say the mestizo culture represents the vast majority of what it is to be Latino... Yes, it is infulencial but there are other elements, which are more important and make it similar to the US...

your completley wrong, Mestizos/caboclos make up the second largest group of people in south america and all of latin america after whites and they make up the largest group of hispanic america.
Brazil has alot of mestizo people, they make up about 12% of Brazil, and most of Brazil is mainly of European descent not african.
Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay are majority mestizo.
And Mestizo's make up a big portion of Bolivia and Peru.
The u.s. has a large mestizo population Due to the Mexican and central/south american population. Overall European and native ancestry are most prevalent and dominant in latin america and even more so in hispanic america.

How am I wrong? You said that mestizos make up the second largest group in Latin Amreica... That is what I was saying... Therefore, if they are the second largest they are not really representive of the region... You said mestizos is the culture of Latin America I say no...

Your wrong because you said mestizos make up a small minority in south america even though they form the majority of many south american countries and big portions of many others and a sizeable portion of Brazil.
I said before mestizos are more represnative of hispanic america but still form the second largest group of all of latin america.
And the U.S. also has a large mestizo culture now because Mexicans are now the largest minority group in the U.S. not to mention all the central americans in this country too.
