When I saw just the title of this thread, I knew it had been started by iPwn.
Whoever you are and where ever you are iPwn ( I suspect you are European and from a non-western probably non-EU country).....
Kindly step back from the computer keyboard. Stop making lineages of things which cannot be lined up. Quit grouping languages and tribes which refuse to be grouped. Do not ask us any more who belongs where, on which side of some kind of imaginary political or geographic or racial boundary.
You are trying group and divide and to make sense of a world which cannot be divided into neat little boxes which can then be understood in a contained finite context.
Whatever motivates you to post your many questions here on City Data, I mean no disrespect. But surely you are aware that your questions can never be definitively answered, that the catagories you wish for to pigeon hole people and their problems cannot be categorized, and that the various self divisions of peoples which they choose and which the rest of us suffer for, cannot be explained with a concise and enlightening post on the internet.
The world is full of conflicts of peoples. Many of these conflicts seem to make no sense (especially to outsiders). We cannot make sense of senseless things for you just because you're trying to understand why these people over here seem to be different from those people over there and there is no good real cause for any of them to believe that they are really very different from their neighbors anyway.
Get a grip on yourself iPwn. Understand that people are not all the same, that they often do NOT like each other, that there need be no good reason for this lack of fellowship, and that this trend has always existed and will probably always continue as far as the eye can see.
iPwn, sit down. Have a coffee. Turn off your computer. Go outside to see what kind of day it is. Breathe deeply. Remind yourself that nothing in the universe can actually be understood and that you and I are all irrelevant dust in the cosmic vacuum cleaner bag.

The labels seem to fall roughly into two categories, those that are tend to be geographical and those that lean more toward cultural/religious/etc.
With some hesitation I would say that what you have called Orient might be better labelled Chinese, given the very strong influence that Chinese culture has had over muc of this area. However SE Asia has also had very strong Indian influences, and these are still found everywhere in that area. And this is further complicated by the prevelance of the influence of the Muslim religion, which have brought influences from much farther west.
As to the region characterized as African; yes, its western and central parts have also had strong influences from the area characterized as desert, and they are very strong now....this is reflected on the coast of the eastern African coast.
All depends of the criteria. For example, Mediterranean Europe could be grouped in some degrees with Northern Africa, Poland or Hungary share some things with Russia...
Latin America, African, and Dessert are really broad terms... Hindu doesn't seem to be the right label for South Asian either... The Guyanas are not part of Latin Amrica... You also missed the South Paciffic and the majority of the Carribbean... At least in terms of the Western Hemisphere... I think you would need about 10 different groups... Don't assume that everything south of the US is just Latino... There cultures are very unique and different...

Lol, I gotta agree, dessert will broaden your, uh, uh, uh,------horizons?

Well, I live in Spain and I has been long time in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt and Marocco, and I have to tell you that you are wrong, wrong, wrong... with degrees and without degrees.
If you can groupe these countries with Europe, you can group all countries with all that you want, because always you can find a minimal similar feature. But economy, civilization, culture, religion and a lot of features (overall, our idiosyncrasy) are very, very differents.
And the proof: incomers from these arabian countries have great problems to live in our culture, because our civilization is very different. Not better, not worse, but different.
