I have often wondered what it would be like to live in exotic or otherwise interesting places. I'm not talking about being homeless or anything negative. But homes like:

- A beautiful, remote beach house
- A japanese zen-inspired home in a picturesque mountain area
- A treehouse home (found in some parts of india and africa)
- A boat large enough for sailing across an ocean

The common theme is a living environment with a close connection to the environment. I'm not really a true outdoor type, but there is a part of me that strongly enjoys the beauty of nature. Being able to get closer and still retain some creature comforts would appeal to me very deeply (I looked this up and apparently the word that describes this is biophilia, an inner love of nature).

Has anyone lived in such places? What was it like?
