Not sure how someone could judge that. Someone would have to live in all of those cities, to be able to say which is the best. Otherwise it's just a guessing...
This is actually an advantage for me Warm is nice, but hot, New-York hot is hard to endure.
And Brighton isn't so far from London, is it?
Brighton is only an hour away and a great place to visit, but we're still talking about summer highs in the low-mid 70s (22-23C), sunshine just under half the time and sea temperatures not really comfortable for swimming for most people (low 60s F/16C). Plus, it's not a proper sandy beach.
San Francisco: It's a thriving urban city surrounded by the ocean and nature. You can hike in Redwood Forests just minutes outside of the city. There are more restaurants per capita than even NYC. Every other block has gorgeous views. There are all types of people and races. If money isn't an issue, it could be the best well-rounded city.
