I think I was the only one to mention San Juan.
Why is it unpopular?

You're wrong. Kuala Lumpur and Singapore are best cities with great facilities and tasty food.

Technically Brisbane and Hong Kong are not but ....

I consider Brisbane tropical as it has a very tropical look
and really never experiences frost.

Hong Kong is located just within the tropics latitude wise,
it does feature a short untropical cool season, for me it's borderline.

Honolulu of course is....many beautiful tall coconut palms prove it

The temperature of Hong Kong drops under 10 C several days a year, on average. Frost is extremely rare but does occur in some years too.
Snow accumulation in urban area was recorded once in 1893.

That's a good point. San Juan is actually quite beautiful. They do get alot of tourism too. My mother was just there a few months ago.

It seems like there are alot of island cities that aren't getting attention.

New York City is actually in the humid subtropical zone, just like Hong Kong. So I guess you could include NYC on the list as well. And also, Honolulu is not a tropical city, its climate is semi-arid desert, more like Dubai than anything tropical. Honolulu is actually very dry.

Anyway, for tropical cities I would say the main players are: Miami, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok.
