Taiwan: I didn't see anything exiting there, too many old/worn out buildings, and backward looking compared to Hong Kong or Singapore. Even Taipei didn't impress me much, I find Taipei to be a relatively backward city with many old/worn out buildings and ugly looking installations.
South Korea: Not so interesting traditional culture, not much things/places to see there except for the Winter Sonata/Dae Jang Geum shooting locations, and I find K-Pop/K-drama (except Dae Jang Geum and Full House) to be extremely overrated. And Koreans are also not as fashionable as people say they are, a lot Korean guys I saw dress up girly while a lot Korean girls I met dress up weirdly. Although Seoul has vibrant nightlife, but I just find Seoul to be a rather shallow and superficial city.
Philippines: Not a well-off country, similar to Indonesia. But compared to Indonesia, Philippines isn't just so interesting and there aren't many things to enjoy at Philippines. I also find Filipinos to be annoying at times.
Visiting another nation is always interesting. I have only been to western Europe and of course being American I have been to Canada. Given that limited experience I was always interested seeing another country. Even visiting a different region of the US is interesting but I like travel. I see people on here saying visiting the US, France, UK is boring. So much to see and do in those nations IMO. If you are bored when traveling abroad the problem may be you.
I was surprised how boring USA was...you need a car to get around and public transportation was non existent when I went to the mid-West to visit my relative! So I was stuck in the house until he finished work LOL. Los Angeles was fun though, you don't really need a car, so I took the bus all the time and was quiet nice. But I was surprised how boring some of the cities in the states were. They all look the same...same stores, etc.
Another boring city was Zurich....gorgeous but a bit dull.
