Off the top of my head, based purely on my own experiences there, I'd say Switzerland, Macao and Zambia. Also-rans would be Malta, Bangladesh, Honduras. Apologies if I answered this question five years ago with different places.
Actually, my first few hours in Bangladesh were awesome, ,memorable hours. But once I got to Dhaka on the train, it was a real yawner.
I've traveled quite a bit and have to say I've never found a boring country. There's always something to do everywhere.
Yes, you can be bored in some place if you overstay in a place you thought merited a longer stay, perhaps, in a smaller town.
And some cities only warrant a day or two, maybe just an afternoon. But you just move on, that's all.
Each country is so different that it merits attention. I imagine Saudi Arabia might seem boring, but it could also be fascinating because it is so different.
I'm really not trying to be politically correct here, it's just so many countries appeal differently. You bring the boring feelings into someplace yourself.
Perhaps if you visited a place 4, 5, 6 times it might wear out its welcome and become boring to you.
^^^ I agree!! I travelled a lot, and didn't found any country really boring, but what I noticed is that boring people are bored everywhere...
Are you implying that your are invariably so energetically resourceful that you always DO find something to relieve the down part of the ups and downs? I once spent a Sunday in Newcastle waiting for the boat to Norway. Hard to decide which is more boring -- Sunday in Newcastle, or the boat to Norway. Yes, no doubt I could have found something to do, but travel ceases to be rewarding if you feel compelled to constantly place that demand on your resources.
"Boring", in the context of this thread, means a place that did not meet your expectations of offering touristic activities or attractions consistent with what you went there to do. Or at a minimum, a place where you can't even get a cup of coffee in the morning, if that's what you need. Yes, a person who is resourceful enough can find something to redeem anyplace.
If you're beach-hopping and surfing your way around the world, it is very unlikely that Chad will be the highlight of your trip. If you're carrying mountain climbing gear, you're going to be disappointed with the Bahamas. There are a lot of islands around the world where a foodie will get bored very quickly with the cuisine.
Tho these aren't countries I found Paris, London, New York City, Sydney, Rome, Tokyo, and Los Angeles to all be boring. Boring with a capital B.
